This piece of Myrtle Wood came from Oregon. It is 15 inches across and 10 inches wide. Myrtle Wood is extremely hard. It is finished with a manufactured Salad Bowl Finish.

This end grain bowl has three feet carved in the bottom. It shows off the growth rings of the wood and has rays in it.

This Pine beetle artistic bowl is very thin so it could be hand carved with a high speed carver. When you hold it up to the light it is translucent. The blue / black streaking is caused by various bacteria that invade the tree when it is dying.
