Today I turned a piece of curly maple that some tear out. I usually coat the piece with wax or some oil but this time I covered the area with an acrylic sanding sealer and wow. I let the sanding sealer sit for 30 minutes to allow it to penetrate and harden.

This shallow bowl was dyed with a blood red analine dye to bring out the grain in the beautiful maple Burl. Once dyed it is sanded with 400 grit sand paper. This process enhances the grain.
